I thought it might be interesting to have a page with pictures from the neighborhood we live in.  We are lucky to live in a very pretty neighborhood with so many things to see.  We take walks almost every day and discover new things all the time.

Hässelby Villastad

We live by Lake Mälaren.  It's just a 10 minute walk from our place.  We often take walks down here.  Here it is in the summer......

......and in the winter.

On our walk to the water, we pass Riddersviks Gård.  The mansion was built around 1760.  It has a restaurant and hotel inside.  At Christmas, they host a Christmas market with pony rides, booths, Santa Claus and food.  During the summer, people have small garden lots in back.  In the front is a rose garden.

There are many woods in our neighborhood.  We have seen deer, hedgehogs and rabbits on our walks.

There are a few nice places for picnics and swimming.

If you continue down the road from where we live, there is a nice area of little houses with gardens.  In the center, someone has made a very nice herb garden for people to visit.

Just past the garden houses, is a golf course, and next to that is a large burial mound from the late Iron Age.  As the information plaque next to it says, "This large mound is the only one of its kind in Stockholm. " This mound dates from between 500-900 A.D.
